History in brief:

The school initially was in a small campus of St. Joseph’s Malankara Church at Chemboor. After 2 years, the present location of five acres was bought and new school building was constructed. It obtained affiliation to CBSE in 2016. After the bifurcation of the Diocese of Parasala from the Archdiocese of Trivandrum the school automatically came under the management of the Diocese of Parasala. The legal formalities of the new trust are under the process. At present the school is under ‘The Malankara Educational Trust’.

Basic Intention of the founder

St. Joseph’s Public School was founded by Most. Rev. Cyril Mar Baselios, the late Arch Bishop and Catholicos of the Malankara Catholic Church in 2001. It was his primary desire that the children around the hilly villages of the place, named Chemboor, should be given education in the medium of English as per the curriculum envisioned by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The bishop was confident the that CBSE model of education would open new vistas for the forth coming generations with amble opportunities nationally and internationally.

Present status

It was, in fact, like a lamp lit to emanate the light of education not only to the students but also to the people as a whole in and around the location of Chemboor. At present there are 383 students from Class I to Class X. Moreover, the school is running Kinder Garten with 110 students. Three batches of students completed class X and added credit to the school with centum results. There are 21 students appearing for the Board Exam in the present academic year 2019 – 2020.

Our campus

The school is built in five acres of the land. Most of the area covers rubber plantation. The school area covers with playground and the main building. The safety of the students is guaranteed in the campus.
